John F. Kennedy Award recipient announced

Recognition for an improv comedian and actor with Holyoke roots. 

The St. Patrick’s Committee of Holyoke announced the winner of the 62nd John Fitzgerald Kennedy National Award at the Wherehouse?.

The award is presented annually to an American of Irish descent who has distinguished themselves in their chosen field. 

T.J. Jagodwski was named the 2019 JFK award recipient for his work on stage and on screen and for his dedication to his hometown.

T.J. wasn’t able to receive the award in person but was sure to give a big thank you over the phone.

He told 22News, “I was just so thoroughly honored. It’s the parade! Anyone from there knows what the parade means and knows what the award means. I was floored.”

Jagodowski currently lives in Chicago. He’s appeared in movies such as “Stranger Than Fiction” and “Get Hard.”

He’s also been featured on the hit television show “Prison Break.”
