CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Friday may be your last chance to see the Polynesian dancers at the iconic Hu Ke Lau restaurant in Chicopee.
The Hu Ke Lau opened in 1965, and had been a hot spot on Memorial Drive ever since. Owner Andy Yee told 22News he remains committed to Chicopee, but that the building is just too old and too big.
Roughly 60 employees work at the Hu Ke Lau, and Yee says that they will be offered positions at one of his other seven restaurants. He said that announcements on the future of the Hu Ke Lau will be coming, and their businesses could be expanding both in western Massachusetts and Connecticut.
The Hu Ke Lau Polynesian dancers will have their final show- at least for the time being- on Friday night.
