It was a busy opening weekend at Bright Nights in Springfield.
The annual Bright Nights holiday lights display draws in crowds from across New England, and the Thanksgiving holiday weekend usually brings in families who make it an annual tradition.
Bright Nights was especially busy Saturday night; traffic could be seen for miles waiting to get into Forest Park.
“Traffic last night was actually backed up to the X, passed the X going down that way past 10 p.m.,” Springfield resident Chiara Sarno described. “So people are eager to come to Bright Nights and it’s a good thing, to see people excited in Springfield.”
The three-mile-long display runs through New Years Day.
