An Agawam woman spent the weekend at Boston Children’s Hospital visiting her infant son who was born prematurely 35 weeks ago.
The trip was made possible by King Ward Coach Lines owner Dennis King. He provided Danielle Dias with a cost-free ride after he read her posting of her son, James’ difficult start to life.
Dias told 22News, what this visit meant to her.
“I was just so flabbergasted that somebody was actually offering something so great,” Dias said. “What they charge for something like that. Out of the kindness of their heart, very exciting.”
Dias told 22News, her nearly three-month-old son weighed just more than one pound when he was born. He has now grown to more than four pounds but is still facing medical issues.
King Ward bus company has offered her more cost-free rides to Boston children’s hospital.
“I saw what she was going through,” King explained. “She’s struggled to get to Boston. It’s not very far for us at all. We offered our services and, by all means, we’ll do it again.”
