The 6th annual Flutes and Flavors Fundraiser was held for the West Springfield Boys and Girls Club Friday night.
For the first time, the event was held outside of the club gym, at the Storrowton Tavern & Carriage House on the grounds of the Big E.
Hundreds of people came out for food, beer, wine tastings, and a live auction. Executive Director Dan D’Angelo said the event raises money for the Boys and Girls Clubs summer programs.
“We always get over seventy-five applications for financial aid, if not more, and we try to honor all of those,” D’Angelo told 22News. “We try not to turn any child away for their inability to pay, so that money for our scholarships and our after-school programs is really important to us.”
Among the live auction prizes; dinner for ten at the West Springfield Fire Department, and a time-share in North Carolina.
