Some high-profile western Massachusetts personalities came out to support the annual Leprechaun Plunge, Thursday night.
Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno got behind the bar at the Irish Cultural Center in West Springfield to help raise money for the plunge, which raises money for organizations like Big Brothers Big sisters and the Shriners hospital for children.
It’s one of a handful of celebrity bartending events the plunge has been holding in our cities and towns, all leading up to the plunge at Brunelle’s Marina on March 10.
Raymond Morin, a local, told 22News, “We get plungers from all over. They come from Westfield, Holyoke, Connecticut. Even from Vermont, they come down to join our event. We’ve been doing this event for nine years, this is our tenth anniversary, and we’re doing it up big this year.”
There will be another fundraiser next Thursday at Brennan’s Place in Holyoke.
