Local nonprofit awards community members for contributions to area youth

Hampden County

Community members were recognized Saturday night for contributions to their local youth.

I Found Light Against All Odds and Chez Josef presented their second annual scholarship and awards gala.

The nonprofit works to provide ‘high-risk youth’ and families with tools and opportunities to overcome and conquer life issues.

Their goal is to inspire others to never give up.

This year’s recipients include WWLP 22News. Receiving the award on our behalf was Ciara Speller.

Stefan Davis, the CEO and President of I Found Light Against All Odds, told 22News, “It doesn’t matter where you’re from. The suburbs or the inner city. They all have issues. And it’s up to us to support those children in need.”

The Purple Carpet Affair marks the second annual gala awarding the Guiding Hand Award to individuals and organizations who have dedicated significant time and effort into developing and embracing the youth in their communities.

The event also raised thousands of dollars.
