Local residents spend hot summer day at Forest Park

Hampden County

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – On a hot summer day many of us escape the concerns of the coronavirus pandemic doing what we’ve always done, retreat to the pleasures you can only find at a park.

In Springfield Saturday, Forest Park provided that much needed getaway for area residents. Whether it was a quiet stroll in the park or maybe even taking the opportunity to contemplate these uncertain times.

“Spending the day with my aunt and my child,” one local resident told 22News.

“We’re here to see if the Forest Park Zoo is open,” another park-goer added.

Spending time at the park is one way to put aside the concerns of the day and refresh ourselves for what we may have to face during the coming weeks.
