Local restaurants fully staffed and booked for Valentine’s Day

Hampden County

If you didn’t have restaurant reservations for Thursday night, you probably had a hard time finding somewhere to eat.

Local restaurants were completely booked for Valentine’s Day.

Max’s Tavern in Springfield added extra tables specifically for Thursday night. Max’s called in almost every employee to accommodate the crowds.

Calls for reservations had been coming into the restaurants all day, and last-minute callers had no luck.

General Manager John Thomas told 22News, “We are going to have 300 to 350 people. So we are geared up for a pretty busy night. It’s going to be a fun night. There are a lot of people in town just for Valentine’s holiday. We should have a fun exciting evening!”

Valentine’s Day is a big night for restaurants. Couples everywhere want to make sure they celebrate. Many people made reservations weeks in advance.

Amy Kaufman-Relihan and Tim Relihan of Belchertown told 22News, “When did I make it? About a few weeks ago. Two-three weeks ago… yeah. So, it worked out really well.”

Max’s Tavern told 22News that they had to stop taking reservations for Valentine’s day almost 2 weeks ago.
