Longmeadow voters approve $14 million to fund new senior center

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - Longmeadow voters approved a proposition two-and-a-half ballot question to fund construction for a new senior center.

The measure passed by more than 400 votes. The $14 million project will add about $170 to the average annual property tax bill on a house valued at $350,000.

For years the former Greenwood Park Elementary School has been the site for senior citizen programming.

The senior center funding was one of many questions on the Longmeadow ballot. Voters also decided on a member of the board of selectmen along with two members on the school committee.
