Friends are raising money for funeral costs for one of the victims found in that Page Boulevard home.
Friends of Kayla Escalante held a benefit car meet Thursday night to help raise money for funeral costs for the 27-year-old.
“Project Nemesis,” a local car club, set up the gathering. One of the organizers said Kayla use to attend their meet-ups. Members designed decals for the event in her honor.
A friend told 22News Kayla loved cars, and he was pleased the club took the time for this tribute.
“The first time that we met, I was actually part of a car club, and that’s how we met. She was a good girl, a really good, a smart girl. It’s so sad how she went,” said Angel Rivera.
Organizers said they pulled the event together in just a matter of days, and that plenty of cars and friends of Kayla came out to support.
