Ludlow VFW hosts first-ever First Responders Appreciation Dinner

Hampden County

Those who protect and serve their community were honored by those who protect and serve our country.

The Ludlow VFW hosted their first-ever First Responders Appreciation Dinner at the Polish America Citizen’s Club Thursday night.

Ludlow first responders, including police, fire. EMTs, emergency dispatchers, and all department retirees were treated to a free buffet dinner and live music.

“All the first responders they put their lives on the line every day and as veterans, we just wanted to say thank you,” said Eric Segundo, director of veteran’s services. “We know how it is. When we deploy we’re concerned about our families but we know our first responders are back home taking care of them.”

The VFW, in collaboration with the town of Ludlow, has declared this First Responders Appreciation Week.
