A major makeover is coming to one of western Massachusetts’ most recognizable landmarks.
At the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, reconstruction of the iconic dome will begin in March.
Each of the composite panels will be removed, repainted and sealed for long-term weather protection.
President and CEO, John Doleva told 22News the reconstruction of the Hall of Fame is set to be complete by the beginning of August.
Eighteen million dollars was invested in the technology, reconstruction and indoor renovations to the Hoop Hall.
