Man hospitalized following Friday night rollover accident in Agawam

Route 57 in Agawam was temporarily closed Friday night due to a single vehicle accident.

According to Massachusetts State Police Lt. Tom Ryan, the accident happened a little before midnight on Friday.

Ryan said the driver, a 58-year-old Westfield man, lost control of his vehicle causing it to rollover.

The man was ejected from his vehicle during the crash and taken to Baystate Medical Center for treatment.

There is no word yet on the seriousness of his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

A portion of route 57 was closed for hours early Saturday morning but has since reopened.
