Man killed in crash on Mass Pike in Blandford identified

BLANDFORD, Mass. (WWLP) – The driver killed in a crash on the Mass Pike in Blandford Wednesday evening has been identified.

Hampden County District Attorney’s Office spokesperson Jim Leydon identified the victim as 61-year-old Donald Payne, of Shrewsbury. 

Leydon said it appears Payne’s car crashed into a tractor trailer as the truck merged onto I-90 East in Blandford from an emergency vehicle turnaround.

Massachusetts State Police identified the trucker as a 46-year-old man from Pennsylvania. State police and the DA’s office are continuing to investigate the deadly accident. No arrests have been made at this time.
