Manufacturing program at Westfield Technical Academy guarantees job after high school

Hampden County

Machine technology students at Westfield Technical Academy are guaranteed they’ll land a well-paying job as soon as they graduate from the high school.

The program’s lead instructor Gary Nadeau said they have 100 percent placement for students who complete the four-year course.

Technical Academy Junior Alice Mosijchuk told 22News, it’s a relief to know a job will be waiting when she graduates.

“It’s awesome, because I don’t have to go through the stress others do,” Mosijchuk told 22News. “I could still go to college, I probably will, but I don’t have to go through junk, I’ll already have a job when I finish school.”

The manufacturing program also has an early college agreement with Springfield Technical Community College.

The students can accept 12 credits towards an engineering degree.
