Auto enthusiasts headed to the Eastern States Exposition this past weekend for the first annual Mark’s Northeast Motorsports Expo.
Event director Ali Clukey talked to 22News about the event. In the past, they have done two summer cars show at the Eastern States Exposition.
“We did two summer car shows here in June and one of them wasn’t very successful because of weather so we had an opportunity. The Big E came to us and offered us space indoors for the winter so we took advantage of it,” said Clukey.
The show featured all different types of cars.
“That was our goal was to have something for everybody so we have newer cars. We have older cars. We have Hot rods. We have race cars. Little midget race cars so we wanted to make sure that it was well rounded because it is a family event for us,” said Clukey.
Several race tracks from New England were on hand including New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, Claremont Motorsports Park, Lee USA Speedway were some of the tracks that were at the event.
The New England racing season will start in about three weeks when the Icebreaker at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park will happen on Friday-Sunday, April 5-7.
