Mental health evaluation ordered for Westfield woman accused of setting home on fire

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Westfield woman who was reported missing after leaving the hospital last week has been ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.

According to court documents obtained by 22News, 28-year-old Jordyn Brown is accused of setting fire to her home on Bristol Street December 14. She disappeared from the hospital the next day, and was found a week later.

Brown was in court Monday to be arraigned on a charge of arson. Instead, a judge sent her to Worcester Recovery Center, where she will undergo a competency and criminal responsibility evaluation.

Brown is due back in court on January 11.
