Mercy Medical Center in Springfield has lifted its visitor restrictions after more than two months of attempting to decrease flu transmission.
Due to a significant decrease in the number of reported cases of the flu, Mercy has reinstated the standard visitation policy for all buildings on the Mercy campus including Weldon Rehabilitation
Hospital and the Family Life Center for Maternity, as well as Providence Behavioral Health Hospital in Holyoke.
The hospital had previously limited visitors to two at a time, did not allow visitors under 14-years-old, and banned people with cold or flu symptoms.
Mercy will return to its regular visitation policy beginning Sunday.
