MGM Springfield has reached a temporary agreement to take over the management of Springfield Symphony Hall.
The Springfield City Council has approved a short-term contract that turns over the management of Symphony Hall to MGM Springfield.
The council voted 11-1 Monday night to approve the city’s four-month interim contract with MGM Springfield. Springfield City Councilor Orlando Ramos told 22News this contract allows the city and MGM more time to negotiate a long-term contract.
All events and graduations at Symphony Hall from now through June 30th will be honored by MGM Springfield.
The Springfield Performing Arts Development Corporation ceased operations at Symphony Hall at the end of last year, when its contract with the city expired.
MGM Springfield said they are not ready to comment on their management of Symphony Hall because the contract is temporary.
