It was another first for the city of firsts!

Tuesday morning the first organized bus trip made its way to MGM Springfield from the central part of the state, and the bus was packed with dozens of eager casino goers.

“It’s our first time out here, we went to Mohegan, Foxwoods and went all over the country to different casinos but we’re very glad to see Massachusetts have a couple now,” said Ayer resident Dave Dolan. “Keep the money in Massachusetts!”

The bus from Worcester was one of six buses expected to make the trip to the casino on Tuesday.

“Some people can’t travel or drive themselves.. so one of the way we’re able to assist them is by putting together a motor coach program,” said Anike Gaskin, Vice President of National Marketing for MGM Springfield.

MGM Springfield Line is a partnership with King Ward Coach Lines to allow people from Worcester, southern Vermont, Hartford and Middlesex Counties in Vermont, and western Massachusetts to travel to the casino.

The president of King Ward Coach Lines, Dennis King told 22News they plan to make this run five days a week.

When guests travel to the casino using the bus service they will also receive a special casino bonus package which includes $20 in free slot play.
