MGM Springfield will soon be taking down the help wanted sign.
Hundreds of job seekers applied for work during Tuesday’s job fair at the MGM Career Center. Initially, there were 3,000 job openings. These applicants are applying for the remaining unfilled jobs such as cooks and cocktail servers.
“I’d say we’re getting close to 95 percent of the positions offered to everyone,” Jason Randall, MGM Springfield’s director of human resources explained. “All those roles, we’ve had a lot of people start already, working for us with orientation and training [and] more coming onboard in the coming weeks.”
MGM Springfield’s human resources personnel said they wouldn’t at all be surprised to have all 3,000 jobs filled by the end of next week.
The casino is scheduled to open its doors on August 24.
