SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The sixth annual Ride-To-Remember charity bike ride will depart from The Plaza at MGM Springfield this year!

The 2018 Ride-To-Remember will take place on September 8. The bike ride from Springfield to Boston honors fallen police officers and firefighters in Massachusetts.

MGM Springfield is hosting the ride’s pre-registration party the night before the ride as well as a post-ride celebration.

“I am overwhelmed by the generous offer MGM Springfield has made to be the host venue for this year’s sixth annual event,” said John Delaney, founder and director of Ride-to-Remember. “The riders and volunteers will be amazed by the royal treatment they will receive before, during and after the ride courtesy of MGM Springfield. Our newest attraction is showing Springfield that they truly care about the brave men and women who protect and serve their community.”

More than 400 bicycle riders are expected to take part in this year’s 106 mile trek across the state.

“We are honored to support local community-based organizations like Ride-to-Remember,” said Alex Dixon, General Manager, MGM Springfield. “We believe strongly that the success of a company depends heavily on the success of its community. We continue to integrate ourselves into the fabric of Springfield and help our fellow neighbors.”

The Ride-To-Remember charity bike ride is open to the public. If you’re interested in signing up just visit www.ridetoremember.bike or on www.bikereg.com.
