A fundraising event was held in Ludlow Saturday evening to recognize the Michael J. Dias Foundation.
The Michael J. Dias Foundation hosted its 7th fundraising event “A year of growth”. Its mission is to battle the disease of addiction and make a difference in the lives of teens and adults with substance abuse problems.
The foundation owns and manages a structured/sober living facility for men recovering from substance abuse disorder.
Ed Perrault, from the foundation, told 22News this event is really important, “This is our only source of income and it allows us to take men into Michael’s House and if they can’t afford it, we give them a scholarship and try and help them battle the disease of addiction.”
This is one of two fundraising events this year.
More than 400 people attended Saturday night’s fundraiser to help bring awareness to substance abuse disorder.
