Money allocated to fix roads and sidewalks in Chicopee

Hampden County

Approximately $5 million will go towards road and sidewalk improvements in Chicopee.

Allocated funds from the city and Chapter 90 funds from 2018 and 2019 will be used towards the road and sidewalk program.

Mayor Richard Kos told 22News the road and sidewalk improvements need over $6-million in funding, meaning additional funding is needed for work to be completed.

The road work includes uncompleted projects from 2018 and projects that would begin this year and in  2020.

An estimated $600,000 is still needed to complete the road and sidewalk projects.
