HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Holyoke Fire Department was sent to Main Street and Jackson Street for a two-car motor vehicle accident on Saturday.

According to the Holyoke Fire Department, the accident took place at the intersection of Main Street and Jackson Street at approximately 9:33 a.m. One occupant from each of the vehicles had to be extracted, with one of the extractions taking about 35 minutes. They ask that everyone avoid the area at this time, as Main Street and Jackson Street are closed.

22News saw State Police and the Holyoke police at the accident. There were also Environmental Spill Control trucks. Both of the occupants were sent to the Emergency room for minor injuries. 22News will continue to update this story as soon as more information becomes available.
