Navy week continues in Springfield with performances, demonstrations

Performances and demonstrations by the U.S. Navy continue in honor of Navy Week coming to Springfield this week. 

Navy Week started Monday and will continue through Saturday, with outreach events planned for each day of the week in Springfield and the surrounding communities. 

According to the Navy website, Navy weeks are hosted across the U.S. and designed to give people the opportunity to learn about the Navy, its people, and its importance. 

You can see various performances, sailors, and demonstrations Friday at the Big E during the following times: 

  • 9AM-2PM – Navy Band Northeast Rhode Island Sound at E-Stage
  • 11AM – Navy Band Northeast Rhode Island Sound Performance at the E-Stage
  • 1PM – USS Constitution Pike Team/Gun Deck demonstrations
  • 11AM-7PM – NRD New England recruiting booth
  • 11AM-7PM – U.S. Navy Meteorology and Oceanography Command display
  • 11AM-7PM – Sea Perch Underwater Robotics demonstrations
  • 1PM-4PM – Hometown Sailors Fairgoer Interaction with Navy Personnel
  • 1PM-5PM – U.S. Naval Academy STEM/Admissions table
  • 1PM-7PM – Navel History and Heritage Command display
  • 3PM – USS Constitution Pike Team/Gun Deck demonstrations
  • 5PM – USS Constitution Pike Team/Gun Deck demonstrations
