A Northampton man is dead, and three others were injured, after an overnight three-car crash on I-91N in Springfield Saturday.
State police told 22News 26-year-old Yerly Jared Santizo Morales of Northampton was driving near Exit 2 in Springfield just after 2 a.m. Saturday when he lost control of his car and crashed into the center median.
His car came to a stop in the left travel lane. He died at the site of the crash.
A 23-year-old woman from Westfield and her passenger, a 25-year-old man from Florence, stopped to help and were hit by an oncoming car. They were taken to Baystate Medical Center for treatment.
No word on their condition.
The driver of the car that hit the woman and man, a 44-year-old man from Westfield, was also taken to Baystate for minor injuries.
The left, center and break down lanes of I-91N were closed for about four hours as crews worked to clear the crash and investigate.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
