Officials to determine cause of van fire on Park St. in West Springfield

Hampden County

Crews were called to a van fire in West Springfield Wednesday afternoon.

The car fire happened less than 10-feet away from Pioneer Valley Spine and Sports, but luckily the fire did not spread to any buildings.

The West Springfield Fire Department told 22News crews found a “fully engulfed” car fire around 2 p.m., Wednesday. Multiple engines were sent to the fire on Park Street, as well as the fire department’s investigation team.

The fire caused a plume of smoke over Park Street visible all the way from the town hall. There were no injuries, but the van appears to be completely destroyed.

Officials said they are still looking into what caused the fire.
