AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) - An 11-year-old was killed in a pedestrian accident in Agawam Tuesday afternoon.
The boy was taken to Baystate Medical Center shortly after the accident, where he died from his injuries.
Lieutenant James F. Donovan of the Agawam Police Department said that the accident happened at the intersection of Maple and Orchard Streets at about 3:30 p.m.
State Trooper Paul Sullivan told 22News that Agawam police requested the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS) to look into what led up to the crash.
A section of Maple Street was temporarily closed, but has since reopened.
