Open house held for people looking to enroll in upcoming casino dealer classes

Hampden County

The Massachusetts Casino Career Training Institute and MGM held two open house sessions Thursday for people enrolling in their upcoming blackjack or poker dealer classes.

Both of the classes start January 7th and are the gateway into a full-time or part-time employment in the casino dealer industry.

MCCTI partners with Holyoke and Springfield Technical Community Colleges to provide the training to become a licensed dealer. The school was created to generate new employees for MGM Springfield.

Paul Sheehan of the Massachusetts Casino Career Training Institute told 22News, “We’ve been at this for several months now and overwhelming number of folks that take and complete our classes get hired by MGM.”

The people that become licensed by the Massachusetts Casino Career Training Institute go on to audition with MGM Springfield to begin the job interview process.
