Overgrown tree branches are covering certain highway signs and sidewalks in a certain area of Springfield.
The overgrowth is covering highway signs along Chestnut Street in Springfield.
Our 22News crew went to that area and found signs indicating the on and off-ramps for I-91 were partially covered by long tree branches and other types of vegetation.
Certain signs are visible up close but can be hard to see from a distance. One resident who lives in the area told 22News the signs and sidewalks have been covered for years.
“I’ve been living in this area for eight years here in Springfield,” said Yeishalis Serrano of Springfield. “I find it bad how the trees are blocking everything. You’re not able to see..you can’t see the cars coming out or coming in.”
The overgrowth of vegetation extends down Bond Street as well.
