Palmer man air-lifted to hospital after being hit by falling tree

PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) – A Palmer man was air-lifted to the hospital after he was hit by a falling tree on Wednesday. 

A Palmer Police officer confirmed that a resident was hurt while cutting down a tree on Griffin Street and that he was taken away by helicopter to the hospital. 

The officer told 22News the homeowner was cutting the tree down by himself at around one this afternoon. 

22News went to the address Wednesday night, where we saw a fallen hardwood tree, lying across the driveway. 

No word on the extent or seriousness of his injuries.
