Palmer Police department holds “Benefit for Buddy” fundraiser

Hampden County

A benefit fundraiser was held Sunday afternoon to help a local K-9 officer continue to serve the community.

The “Benefit for Buddy” fundraiser event was at Pulaski Park Sunday. The public’s support allows the Palmer police department to continue their mission of covering Veterinary cost, training seminars, and equipment needed to perform his job as a Palmer Police K-9 Officer.

The event offered K-9 Demonstrations, a 50/50 raffle, and a Meet and greet with Buddy the K-9.

Janice Garabedian from the Plamer Police Department told 22News what the fundraiser is for, “We did a fundraiser because Buddy is not part of the Palmer police budget so Buddy has been through a few surgeries the past few months and we are raising money to put back in his funds for the palmer police canine fund.”

It’s not known if the Palmer Police department will continue holding K-9 fundrasiers, but they say the money raised helps tremendously.
