In Holyoke, past parade presidents gathered for their annual luncheon traditionally held the Friday before the St. Patrick’s parade.
The gathering is nostalgic for presidents who recall their role during past parades. David Donoghue presided over the parade 31-years-ago.
“It’s reliving the memories and it’s introducing our parade president this year to our group of past presidents as we say we’re the wuzzies,” Donoghue told 22News.
While there have been several changes to the parade over the years, several past presidents emphasized the one thing that hasn’t changed: and that’s the parade weekend continuing to attract thousands of people to Holyoke every year.
