A portion of Memorial Drive (Route 33) in Chicopee was shut down Wednesday night, after a pedestrian was hit by a car.
Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk told 22News that the victim was struck by the vehicle at around 8:30 p.m. Wilk said the victim was conscious, but there was no further information on the severity of that person’s injuries.
An accident reconstruction team was called in to look into what led up to the crash. The southbound side of Memorial Drive (Route 33) just past the Mass Pike entrance was blocked-off and drivers had to be detoured around the area.
The roadway has since re-opened.
