Potholes across western Massachusetts causing severe tire damage for drivers

Western Massachusetts’ early pothole season has begun, costing some drivers hundreds of dollars in car repairs.

Large potholes are now starting to form, like at the corner of Route 202 and Homestead Avenue in Holyoke.

Potholes can cause significant damage to your tires and rims damage.

City Tire’s Travis Koske told 22News the best way to avoid damaging your car when driving down a road with a lot of potholes, “People are just cruising through, they’re going faster, you’ve got to slow down when you see a pothole, slow down.”

Koske also told 22News, drivers prone to pothole damage should purchase road hazard insurance, as replacing a tire and rim can cost hundreds of dollars.
