Power outage affecting West Springfield, Springfield

A widespread power outage affected more than 400 people in Hampden County Friday morning. Only a few outages 

West Springfield Police Sgt. Ed Apostle told 22News a squirrel on Chestnut Street in West Springfield was to blame for the power outage.

Just before 8:00 a.m., power was restored to most of the customers affected. According to the outage map, 25 customers remain without power in West Springfield, and just one customer remains without power in Springfield.

Sgt. Apostle said crews are aware of the issue, and are working to fix it.
