SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield’s dining district continues to grow! The city welcomed a new Italian tavern and wine bar with a ribbon cutting on Bridge Street.
City officials and the community came together to officially open Osteria on Bridge Street Tuesday afternoon, where the old Cafe Manhattan building once stood. Owner, and Springfield native, Chris McKiernan told 22News, he’s excited to bring back that energy to this space.
Adding patrons can expect to see Italian homemade pasta, Mediterranean dishes, and a new place to host community events.”My goal is to always have just a nice place for people to go to, that’s it, that it is the bar. If its nice enough, the food is good they’ll come,” said Chris McKiernan, owner of Springfield’s Osteria. “And that’s all I want.”
“The vibe here, the food, the atmosphere, another hot spot, right here in the City of Springfield,” Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno adds.
Osteria located at 301 Bridge Street, will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
