Several Springfield streets will be closed starting Friday morning in preparation for the World’s Largest Pancake Breakfast.
According to Vice President of the Spirit of Springfield Amy Barron-Burke, Main Street from State Street to Bridge Street will be closed starting at 10 a.m. on Friday.
Barron-Burke said no parking signs would be posted and enforced starting Thursday. On Saturday, Boland Way through Harrison Avenue and Court Street through to Bruce Landon Way will remain open until 4 a.m.
Main Street is expected to open to vehicular traffic by 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The pancake breakfast, sponsored by MGM, will take place Saturday at 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Main Street in Downtown Springfield.
The breakfast will cost $3 for adults and $1 for children. The meal will feature pancakes, bacon, coffee, juice and milk.
Barron-Burke said MGM Springfield General Manager, Alex Dixon, will serve as the event’s Honorary Chairman.
