Roadwork has been impacting travel on one of Chicopee’s busiest streets.
Burnett road Residents urged 22News to take a look at conditions along a one mile stretch of the street. The road’s being re-paved after the installation of a 30-inch water main.
Burnett road resident Don Desmarais said he’s had problems since the roadwork began in the spring, “Oh the noise is terrible, you know but it’s better now. It’s all these trucks here they come down the road here, they don’t slow down, four in the morning.”
Burnett road is heavily traveled, connecting Ludlow with the Mass Pike Exit 6 and Interstate 291.
22News also spoke with, acting Chicopee Superintendent of Public Works, Elizabeth Botelho.
Botelho told 22News, the work should be finished by the winter.
