A fundraiser was held in Palmer Saturday afternoon in memory of a fallen veteran.

All funds raised during the event at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish will benefit a Holyoke Community College scholarship offered in memory of Army Staff Sgt. Clint Storey.

The event was hosted by Storey’s family as well as the “Village to Village Foundation” which helps families remember their loved ones by creating scholarships of their choice.

The “Pay a Good Deed Forward” Scholarship is presented each year to a veteran student at HCC.

Melissa Storey, the event coordinator, told 22News, “I want them to take away that my husband was a phenomenal man and see the love behind it. We just want to share him with everyone and keep his legacy going. He’ll be here long after we are when it comes to this. I couldn’t dream of anything better than that.”

Army Staff Sgt. Clint Storey was killed during his 2016 tour in Iraq. He’s survived by his wife and two children.
