Two rescued from second alarm fire by Springfield Fire

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Two people were rescued from the third-floor apartment of 858 Belmont Avenue after a second alarm fire started.

The fire in Springfield was initially put out at around 4:15 a.m. While no word has been released on the cause of that fire Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad is currently investigating. One person was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries while the other was treated at the scene.
