Loved ones, joined by friends and colleagues, said good-bye Saturday morning to Sergeant Mark Ouimet, a 20-year veteran of the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department.
They mourned the loss of Sergeant Ouimet during the funeral mass at St. Cecilia’s Church in Wilbraham.
Ouimet was the head of the Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit, and died last weekend at the age of 51. He’s survived by his wife and two sons.
Mark Ouimet’s aunt spoke, Judy Dube, spoke with 22News about her nephew. “He was a great father, he was a good family member, he loved everybody. He worked hard, took care of his family, took care of everybody.”
Ouimet was laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Chicopee.
