SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Spirit of Springfield announced the Bright Nights Ball “Cherry Blossoms Under the Moonlight” is being held at MGM Springfield.
The event will be held on November 13th this year and will be returning to MGM Springfield for the third time.
“The Bright Nights Ball is our largest fundraiser and it enables us to produce some of the other events you know the 4th of July there’s no income for us the pancake breakfast there’s no income. This particular event gives us operating income so we can do all those events and more,” said Spirit of Springfield President Judy Matt.
This year’s décor and dinner will be themed with pink cherry blossoms. Information on becoming a sponsor or purchasing tickets to the City of Bright Nights Ball can be found on their website.
Matt was joined Shawn Pace, Site Manager for Eastman’s Springfield plant, Mayor Domenic Sarno, Chris Kelley, President and Chief Operating Officer, MGM Springfield, Dennis Duquette, President of the MassMutual Foundation and Head of Community Responsibility for MassMutual, sponsors, committee members, and Spirit of Springfield Board of Directors for the announcement Friday morning.
They announced Shawn Pace as the gala’s chair and Eastman as the sponsor.
“We believe that supporting the Spirit of Springfield’s efforts to bring the community together in celebration, especially during these difficult times, is important. In addition to our other community contributions, we are proud to serve as sponsor of the 2021 City of Bright Nights Ball,” said Shawn Pace, Eastman Indian Orchard Site Manager.
“We are gratified by the response from our sponsors and supporters who are happy that this unique event will happen again. As with Bright Nights itself going forward last year, there is a feeling that people need a time like this, to come together safely and celebrate all that is good in Springfield and to continue to support the smiles that Bright Nights has generated,” said Matt. “We are grateful for Eastman’s ongoing commitment to our community and the new relationship we are building with this international company.”
“Cherry Blossoms Under the Moonlight” will feature decor from Andrew Jensen at JX2 Productions, and Dan Stezko from Flowers, Flowers! designing the theme. Dinner will include braised short ribs, pan seared diver scallops, seared trumpet mushroom “scallops,” and dessert with a touch of cherry cotton candy served by the culinary team at MGM Springfield.
