Spring carnival held for Square One daycare children

Hampden County

Square One pre-school daycare in Springfield held a carnival Friday for the children.

One hundred and fifty children at Square One’s Tommie Johnson Child and Family Center on King Street enjoyed the carnival.

It was all made possible thanks to a grant from Springfield Business Improvement District. The downtown improvement group appreciates what Square One has accomplished on behalf of working parents who need child care services.

Executive Assistant Michelle Grout of the Springfield Business Improvement District told 22News, “They do a job for the city that sometimes goes unrecognized for these kids and families of the community.”

The room in which the spring carnival was held, had recently been upgraded with artwork by volunteers from LEGO.

A giving back to the community project also recognized the work Square One accomplishes for working parents.
