Springfield Boys and Girls Club Festival of Trees opens Friday

When the Parade of the Big Balloons wrapped up, many parade-goers went over to the Mass Mutual Center for the start of the 18th annual Festival of Trees.

This is the first year the Mass Mutual Center has hosted the two-week festival benefiting the Springfield Boys and Girls Club. 

More than 130 donated Christmas trees that are now on display.

22News spoke to some people who had never attended the annual event.

“Beautiful, awe-inspiring, great cause,” said Maria Manzi of Connecticut. “I had never heard about the show from a friend of mine. And my sister is visiting from Italy so I thought why not?”

Each tree will be raffled off when the festival concludes on December 9th.

A year ago the Festival of Trees attracted 15,000 visitors raising $170,000 for Boys and Girls Club programs.

Hours are as follows:

  • Monday and Tuesday:  CLOSED
  • Wednesday: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Thursday: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Friday & Saturday: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Sunday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
