One of Springfield’s youngest merchant has the distinction of being named Massachusetts Black Business Owner of the Year.
Twenty-four-year-old Karrah Smith, is the owner of the Something To Talk About boutique at Tower Square in downtown Springfield.
The award was followed by her being designated young business owner of the year.
Smith graduated from Holyoke Community College with a degree in criminal justice
but with the death of the original owner, her beloved aunt, she stepped in.
She told 22News, what’s required of people her age to be successful.
“Just persevere, no matter always have a goal in mind. Know exactly what path you want to take, just know you have a goal in mind,” Smith said.
Smith has been operating the Tower Square store since 2015, and said she has a passion for fashion.
