Springfield residents, your leaf pick-up day is the same as your recycling pickup day.
Springfield residents can put out yard waste, including leaf-filled paper bags, on the same day you put your recycling at the curb.
Leaves should be separate from regular recycling, in 30-gallon paper bags, weighing no more than 40 pounds.
Springfield DPW director Chris Cignoli told 22News, “They have to be in paper bags, or in barrels loose in barrels, no plastic bags.”
Cignoli also advised, “You put them out on the day of your recycling, we will pick them up. Nothing heavier than 40 pounds. You can tie, brush up, you can tie twigs up and we will pick them up.”
Curbside collection of leaves and yard waste will run until around mid-December, weather permitting.
