SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A thick patch of ice at a Springfield intersection is causing problems for drivers.
Neighbors who live near the intersection of Lexington and Lancashire Streets complained about the ice build-up that's causing drivers to suddenly stop to avoid skidding on it.
Springfield Public Works Director Christopher Cignoli told 22News, his crews will remove the ice Tuesday and search for the source of the water running down Lexington Street.
Cignoli suspects the water table may be running high near Memorial Square.
